Blind Citizens Australia (BCA): National Policy
United Nations (UN) Convention on the Human Rights of People with Disabilities New York, 13 December 2006 - The United Nations General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This Convention clarifies equal rights and non-discrimination for the 650 million persons around the world living with disabilities. BCA has been advocating for Australians who are blind or vision impaired throughout the development of this Convention. March 30, 2007: The Australian Government signs the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Blind Citizens Australia (BCA) congratulates the Australian Government for signing the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
