Peer Mentoring and Leadership Training

Peer Mentoring

In 2019, Blind Citizens Australia will be offering interested members the opportunity to participate in a series of Peer Mentoring training teleconferences. This will also include support as candidates begin to act as mentors within the community.

The training will involve the following topic areas:

  1. What is Peer Mentoring?
  2. Communication – Listen, hear and learn
  3. Express yourself
  4. Perspectives
  5. Practice Makes Perfect
  6. Lights Camera Advocacy
  7. Putting it all together

We are excited to share this training opportunity which will strengthen the resources within the community and empower people to support and encourage others.

If you are someone who is eager to share your knowledge and skills with others, or you would like to develop your capacity as a peer to peer mentor we want to hear from you.

At the conclusion of the Peer Mentor training, Blind Citizens Australia will also run a Leadership Development project. If you would also like to participate in this project, please complete the “Expression of Interest – Leadership Development” application.

 

Leadership

In 2019, Blind Citizens Australia will be offering interested members the opportunity to participate in a series of leadership training teleconferences and a leadership immersion event.

We value the role of our members as leaders within our community. This training is a wonderful opportunity for you to leverage leadership skills to use in your personal, professional or social capacities. Whether you want to lead a group, a project, take on a management or leadership role at work or are considering Board opportunities. This training could benefit you!

The areas of training covered will include:

  1. Leadership and Communication
  2. Public Speaking and Presenting to an Audience
  3. Behaviours and Motivation
  4. Leadership and control, teamwork and at work
  5. The power of influence
  6. Resolving Conflict and Crucial Conversations
  7. Lead. Influence. Belong.
  8. Leadership for Board and Governance
