Following the resignation of our current CEO, Emma Bennison in October, the board of Blind Citizens Australia engaged Fisher leadership to manage an exhaustive search for her successor. A strong pool of potential leaders was shortlisted from a field of 16 applicants.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce that Sally Aurisch was the successful candidate”, BCA President, Fiona Woods said today.

“The board is looking forward to working with Sally to continue the organisation’s growth and development. Sally has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of Australians who are blind or vision impaired in her role as General Manager, Projects and Engagement and has previously acted in the CEO role as part of her participation in our Executive Leadership Program.

We are delighted that Sally is stepping up and look forward to working with her to take our organisation to the next level. While Sally has worked with Blind Citizens Australia in various capacities since 2017, she says the opportunity to serve as CEO is a huge privilege”, said Fiona.

“The chance to lead an organisation I know and love is incredibly exciting and I am grateful to the board for their confidence in me. BCA is in a strong position and I look forward to working with members, board and staff to further grow and develop our organisation.”, said Sally.

Sally will commence a hand over period after Christmas before taking up the role from the end of January.
