The topic for our November BCA Inform was an update on the Disability Royal Commission (DRC). Discussion included: a summary of the DRC’s work to date, an overview of the submissions BCA has made to the DRC, and what to expect as the DRC nears its completion.

The Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability was established by the Federal Government in April 2019 in response to community concern about widespread reports of violence against, and the neglect, abuse and exploitation of, people with disability.

Since beginning its work, the Disability Royal Commission (DRC) has received thousands of submissions from individuals and organisations, and produced several in depth reports and issues papers.
