Date: Tuesday, 19th April 2022

Time: 7:15pm for 7:30 start, conclude by 9:00pm AEST

It is time for BCA to review and update its constitution. Constitutions are legally binding documents that outline how an organisation will operate and be governed.

Some of the changes to the constitution are required to ensure it meets the expectation of the Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission (ACNC), to whom we report.

There is also the opportunity to make other changes to the constitution around the National Policy Council, local and special interest branches, acceptable standards of behaviour, and membership categories – and we would like to hear your perspective on these, and other elements of the constitution.

BCA will host an additional BCA Inform on Tuesday, 19th April 2022 at 7:15pm AEST (please note Daylight Savings will have ended by this date) to discuss the constitution. Details on how to join the session are included below.

Feedback from this event will then be compiled and draft amendments prepared. The draft amendments will be presented to members in a mail-out in July 2022 and be voted on at the Annual General Meeting in December 2022. Following this, work will be undertaken to ensure that any supporting documents impacted by the changes are updated by 30th June 2023.

In preparation for the session, we encourage you to review BCA’s constitution.

If you can not attend the session, you can provide feedback by emailing it to bca@bca.org.au.

Please RSVP for the event by following this link or alternatively please email events@bca.org.au.

Important Note: Friday, 15th April and Monday 18th April are public holidays and the BCA office will be closed. If you have any questions ahead of the event please get in touch with us before close of business on Thursday, 14th April or, on Tuesday 19th April. Alternatively, you can email events@bca.org.au and we will respond to your enquiry prior to the session commencing.
